Recovery

You paid and you cannot get in

This is almost always one of four situations. Start at the top and stop when it works.

1. Same phone, or a new phone, same store account

Open Camito, go to the subscription screen and choose Restore purchase. Make sure the phone is signed in to the same Apple Account or Google account that paid. This is the one that fixes most cases, including a reinstall and a new phone.

If restoring finds nothing, Camito will say so rather than sit there: a restore either completes or tells you why it did not.

2. You had a Camito account and you are signed out of it

Sign in with the email address you used. If you cannot remember the password, ask for a reset from the sign-in screen: we send a link to that address and it is the only way back into the account, because we cannot read your password and neither can anybody here.

If you never made an account, there is nothing to sign in to and nothing has gone wrong. Camito does not ask you to register before it will sell you anything, and an account is offered after a purchase rather than before it.

3. New phone, and you never made an account

This is the one case where something really is lost, and it is worth saying plainly rather than burying. Your progress belongs to an identifier your phone created the first time you opened Camito. It lives on that phone. Restore brings your subscription across to a new phone, because the store knows about that. Your scores and your finished lessons do not come with it, because nothing outside that phone ever knew them.

Making an account attaches your progress to you instead of to a handset, and it adopts what is already there rather than starting you over. That is the reason to make one, and it is the only reason.

4. The subscription is on a different store account

If a parent paid on their own Apple Account or Google account, the subscription lives there. Sign that phone in to that store account and restore, or use Family Sharing if the store offers it for the subscription.

We cannot move a subscription from one store account to another. The store owns that billing relationship, not us, and we have no control over it. What we can do is help you work out which account paid.

Still stuck

Write to [email protected] and tell us the email address on your Camito account and which store you bought in. Do not send us a receipt with a card number on it. We do not need it and we do not want it.

A note on links in emails

Camito never puts your email address in the address bar of a link we send you, and a link in an email from us never signs you in by itself. Getting into an account always takes a code or a password that only you have. If you receive something that claims otherwise, it did not come from us.

Not built yet. The signed-in recovery and account pages will live at https://app.camitoapp.com/en-US/, which is a different application from this website and does not exist today. Until it does, the steps above and the support address are the whole route, and they do not depend on it.
