What it is
The product, the test it prepares you for, and where it works.
Camito is test preparation for the knowledge test you take before you are issued a learner permit. It is delivered online, on your phone. It teaches road rules in short lessons and tests you on each lesson, and it explains every answer, right or wrong.
The written knowledge test your state requires before it issues a learner permit. Camito prepares you for that test. It has no part in setting it, giving it or marking it. Passing a test inside Camito is practice, and it counts for nothing with the authority that issues your permit.
The jurisdictions whose courses we have actually written, which the app lists when you pick a course. Camito never shows you one place’s road law under another place’s name. If your state is not there yet, it is because we have not written it, not because we have hidden it.
Yes. The lessons and questions ship inside the app rather than being fetched from a server while you study, so the course works on a bus, in a basement and on a bad connection. Your progress syncs when you are online again.
How it works
The lesson, the score, and what happens when you do badly.
A lesson is ten questions and you can miss two. Get eight right on the first try and the lesson counts. Miss three and Camito marks it needs review rather than complete, and the questions come back. Nothing is taken away from you for it and you lose no points you already earned. Eight out of ten is the same standard a unit test has to meet, so there is one bar to clear and not two.
Thirteen. If you are under 18 you need a parent or guardian to agree before you use Camito. The same two numbers are in the Terms and the Privacy notice, and they say the same thing in both.
Agree before you start. How Camito asks for that agreement, and what it records, has not been built yet: it is one of the open items listed on the Privacy notice. We would rather say that than describe a screen that does not exist.
Not to start, and not before you buy anything. Camito works from the moment you open it, and your progress belongs to an identifier your phone makes on first launch. An account is offered after a purchase, never demanded before one. What an account buys you is that your progress follows you to a new phone instead of staying on the old one, and it adopts what you have already done rather than starting you over.

Free: setting up your course, the course map, and lesson one all the way through, meaning you read it, take its test, get your score and read the explanations.
The subscription covers lesson two onward, the unit tests, practice, mock exams and the road signs reference.
We do not print a number on this website, because there is no single number to print: the App Store and Google Play set the amount in your own currency for the country your store account is in. You see the exact amount, the billing period and the date of the first charge inside the app before you buy anything, and again on the store’s own payment sheet.
No. There is no free trial and nothing that starts charging you when you were not looking. There is a free lesson one instead, and it is a whole lesson rather than a preview of one.
In the store that billed you. The steps for both stores are here. Cancelling stops the next renewal; you keep access until the end of the period you have already paid for.
Start here. In most cases it is Restore purchase in the app, signed in to the same store account that paid. If that does not do it, write to us and we will sort it out with you.
Your data
What we hold, what we never do with it, and how to erase it.
Your account details, which course you picked, your progress and scores, and the technical data needed to keep the app running and to see whether it is crashing. The Privacy notice lists every one of those flows, what it is for, who processes it, and the parts we have not settled yet.
From inside the app, without asking us. That erases your data from the live service. One honest caveat: our encrypted backups can still hold a copy of it for up to about twelve weeks afterwards, and the Privacy notice says so in those words.

The three things we are asked most often and answer with a flat no.
No, and be careful of anybody who says theirs are. We write our own questions from the road law itself. They cover the same material, because the material is the law, but they are not the real test’s questions and they are not drawn from it.
No. Camito is not a government agency and is not connected with one. No licensing authority has approved, endorsed, certified or partnered with Camito, and we do not issue permits, licences or certificates.
